was written by Jacques Plante and sang by Charles Aznavour in 1966. The song talks about the literary and artistic movement in Paris during the 19th Century. How they lived a life of poverty in rejection of the bourgeois life.

“Il n’y a pas d’amour heureux”

is the only poem by Louis Aragon put to music by Georges Brassens. Aragon was nicknamed the Communist Poet for being a member of the French communist party. The poem talks about the love Aragon feels for Elsa Triolet who was a French Novelist of Jewish/ Russian descent, and the love for his country where he expresses fervently the humiliation and oppression suffered by France during the German occupation.
